CaixaForum Madrid’s rendezvous with cinema’s greatest spies
Madrid, 27 June 2023
- The cultural centre of ”la Caixa” Foundation is hosting the exhibition Top Secret: Cinema and Espionage as part of a new partnership with the Cinémathèque Française. The show explores the untold history of the links between the profession of actors and spies, as well as those of fiction and historical events.
- The exhibition uses this game of mirrors between cinema and espionage as its starting point to trace a chronological-thematic path that spans a century of interaction: from Mata Hari to Carrie Mathison via James Bond and Edward Snowden.
- Top Secret: Cinema and Espionage features some 270 items from 31 lenders in a wide variety of formats, including accessories and objects from both the world of cinema and espionage, original posters, costumes, archives and documents, photographs, installations and works of art, as well as clips from 90 films.
