The ”la Caixa” Foundation creates ArtStudio CaixaForum to house the largest private collection in Europe

  • The ”la Caixa” Foundation presents the project for the renovation and expansion of a warehouse to transform it into the ArtStudio CaixaForum Collection, a centre that will bring together and promote the ”la Caixa” Foundation Contemporary Art Collection, consisting of 1,069 works by 445 artists.
  • The building, with an area of 10,000 square meters and entailing an investment of 12 million euros, will be located in the Cultural District of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona), a new area that the city aims to develop into a cultural hub dedicated to the creative community.
  • The new ArtStudio CaixaForum is conceived as a state-of-the-art centre for research and conservation of works of art, as well as a think-tank with the mission of bringing together professionals from the fields of art, culture and thought at the national and international level.
